Our Mission
The Blue Ridge
Regional Hospital Foundation is the fund-raising and friend-raising
arm of the hospital. Working with individuals, businesses and
private foundations, we will improve the health of our community.
Our Legacy
Blue Ridge
Regional Hospital Foundation was founded in 1995, and has since funded over $4.2 million in grants. Since its inception, Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Foundation has raised funds that have supported many programs and projects within the hospital and through out the community. Today the BRRH Foundation's funding focus is to help sustain costs of the $23.6 million expansion and renovation of Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, and Toe River Project Access.
Blue Ridge Regional Hospital continues to work toward completion of the largest expansion and renovation in the hospital's history. When this project began BRRH could only afford to go into debt for $15 million, leaving the rest to be funded from cash reserves. To fund the $23.6 million necessary to make this much needed expansion a reality, The Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Foundation committed to raising $4 million. We are pleased to announce that through the help of generous donors, staff members, and foundations that the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Foundation has raised $4.1 million and continues to raise funds that support the new clinical wing. An initiative of the Foundation, Toe River Project Access (TRPA) provides access to medical and dental care for low-income uninsured adults in Mitchell and Yancey Counties. Since its start in 2003, TRPA has helped over 760 members of the community receive the access to care they needed. Click here to learn more about TRPA.
